Interesting Women: Stacey Bendet

Here´s to strong women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.
— Stacey Bendet

Creative, authentic, stylish and hard worker are just a few words to describe Stacey Bendet. Stacey is the CEO and creative director of famous fashion brand Alice and Olivia. She is a true entrepreneur, a woman who knows what she wants and is determined to get it. But she´s not the fashion design student who knew she wanted to be a designer since the beginning. She studied International Relations at the University of Pennsylvania, but she her creative side was talking to her. So she decided to start designing websites for an apparel company, and that`s when the idea of fashion design came in.

She noticed at that time everyone was doing denim, but no one made it sexy or the main focus of the outfit, so she decided to design her first pair of striped pants and from there nothing could stop her. In 2002, she designed a 20-item collection and within months, investors came and that`s when Alice and Olivia was born. What we love the most about her, besides being the great entrepreneur and strong woman she is, she remains true to herself. She continues to design as if it were for her, pieces she actually wears and that is how her brand is so true to herself. In fact, she even models her own collections! Alice and Olivia is a super fun, filled with color and energy brand, just like her.

Are you obsessed with her as we are? If you are, don´t forget to check out her Instagram account and her webpage

Milan Fashion Week Street Style

Being probably the most stylish of all, Milan Fashion Week has left us once again dreaming of the pieces worn on the streets. Even though the looks on the streets were not as crazy and colorful as the ones from New York and London, we are still in love with the way these beautiful girls put their looks together. There were a lot of cool jackets, suede, flower prints and suits, all of them styled in a very elegant yet laid-back way.  They definitely remind us that less is more.

Scroll down and take a look at our favorite looks from the streets of Milan and get inspired! By the way, there are a lot of pieces similar to our Spring Summer 2016 Lookbook

Interesting Women: Emily Weiss

Are you obsessed like us with young women entrepreneurs who are conquering the world and don´t seem to be stopping any soon? If you are then Emily Weiss is the perfect girl to be obsessed with. With just 30 years old she is the founder of beauty website Into the Gloss and beauty products brand Glossier is the perfect example of a successful young entrepreneur.

Into the Gloss is a beauty site which attracts more than one million readers each month. It is curated by many powerful women giving tips and information to models, makeup artists and people in the industry about how to maximize your beauty routine. Let´s be honest, her life is pretty much perfect. After Into the Gloss success, Emily launched her own beauty products line called Glossier, which is small line offering only the products women can´t live without.

She started Into the Gloss during her last year of internship at Vogue. She loved it so much she was comited to work during her free time or before going to work, even though that meant to wake up super early in the morning. She started to get comments from readers asking her to post more often, so she had to make the decision to leave her opportunity at Vogue and focus on this.

But we love her not just because her life is perfect and she has built an empire, we love her because she´s taught us that it is possible to turn a hobby you love into a successful business. The key is to have passion for it, to be so in love and obsessed with it that it won´t matter having to get up at 5:00 am and sacrificing a lot.

Be sure to check Into The Gloss and Glossier, and keep up with her Instagram account. You´ll love her as much as we do!
