It is time to get back on track. The holidays are over and we must start living our day full of energy and excitement for what it’s to come. But I’m not going to lie, it may be a little difficult. Our schedules got a little messed up. It’s hard getting out of bed again early in the morning with this cold weather and actually start making something of your day instead of watching Netflix all day long. And of course, being present also means eating everything on the table, we had no restrictions.
It is not a “back to reality” thing as some may say, as if your reality was something you don’t like. We actually do love our reality and we hope you do too. We can’t wait to start all of our new projects. So here share with you two tips we use to help us get back on track after the holidays.
Your healthy eating habits.
Your diet is probably suffering the consequences of these holidays. You may feel a little guilty of your holiday eating habits, but don’t punish yourself, it’s ok to break the healthy eating rules once a year.
Its hard to say no to sugar and stick to a healthy diet. But you have to remember it is not a diet, it is a lifestyle, and the food is just a part of this “back on track” thing, but it’s a very important one.
Start slow. Make the right choices every meal and start working out 2 or 3 times a week if you are not used to it. And not because summer is coming but because it is part of your healthy lifestyle, it is better to get used to it instead of wanting to get in shape for a vacation to the beach in just one month, that way you will gain all the weight you lost again. Once you give your body the right food and do some excersice , you will feel more energized to do all the things you have planned.
Make the most of your day.
Eating clean and exercising is the easy part. The real challenge is training your mind to get back on track and want to actually do these changes. Specially in the morning as we said, it is very difficult to get out of bed and start with your life.
One thing that helps, is give thanks for everything you have and or all that is coming and make a quick reminder of the plans you have for this day. As soon as you get up, get dressed and ready to start your day and eat a complete and healthy breakfast. If you have chosen to exercise in the morning, then this is the first thing you will do.
A great tip we have learned is to wait some time before jumping on to social media and checking our email. It helps a lot if you get some minutes for yourself to think about the day, make a list of the things you want to accomplish that day.
We hope we can help you with these tips we used. It may be difficult the first days, but we promise it helps.
